EvergreenConnect now gives you the ability to check plant availability in Vectorworks.
As a designer or landscape architect, creating planting plans and their associated plant schedules for your planting design is one thing, but actually checking if the plants you are scheduling are commercially available, in the actual quantities you require, can help set your designs apart. This is an additional layer of design rigor: not only does it save you time in the long term through not having to negotiate substitutions with your landscape contractor, it also ensures that your original vision for your site is realized without compromise, by ensuring the correct plant stock is available.
At EvergreenConnect we are excited to announce our recent partnership with Vectorworks. This integration allows you to check plant availability in Vectorworks live within your planting design. You have the ability to drill down to state and region specific data on particular plants within your design. The plugin will also provide you with additional information on median pricing of plants for suppliers that are showing current availability.
Cannot see the plant as being currently available? You can then login to EvergreenConnect and undertake a more granular search via our Plant Search function to check not only current availability, but also if any grower has ever listed this stock. With over 700 production nurseries across Australia listing their stock with EvergreenConnect, this can be useful in determining if it just an issue of seasonality effecting current plant availability, or if it something more critical, such as a species where there is no record of the plant ever being grown commercially.
Once you check plant availability in Vectorworks directly within your planting plan, you can then export your plant schedule directly into EvergreenConnect, via the Landscape Projects Tool. This allows you to undertake further refined searches, or to obtain a quote or tender if you are undertaking procurement.
